Pavia e Ansaldo OOO
The Firm's structure is designed in such a way as to make each partner responsible for a team composed of both "senior" and "junior" associates. The composition of working teams is geared to the requirements of each matter and to the degree of specialization required to handle the task at the highest professional level and at the most reasonable cost. In all cases, clients maintain their contacts with the partner responsible for their specific file. The "client-oriented" structure is coupled with the specialization of the members of the Firm, particularly in the areas of practice described above, and organized within in house departments. In consideration of the preferences expressed by its clients who may require assistance on a continuing basis or concerning matters having a considerable value, the firm adopts, in line with the international practice and in agreement with the clients, a system of billing based on the application of a hourly rate system. It is of course possible to adopt the Italian standard system for remuneration of legal services, based on a Tariff approved by the Italian Ministry of Justice, which in certain cases authorizes charging a variable percentage of the value of the matter at hand (contingency fees are strictly prohibited).PAVIA e ANSALDO was originally established in 1961 as a branch of a U.S. law firm, established in New York in 1946 by Mr. Enrico L. Pavia (continuing the practice he had started in '20s in Genoa, Italy), with a focus on business, corporate, commercial, banking and maritime law. As the practice grew, the branch was transformed into a fully independent Italian law firm. PAVIA e ANSALDO was established as a professional partnership in 1974 and progressively increased in size and expertise, covering new and specific areas of practice, along with the growth of the Italian economy, the increasing interest of international clients in investments and business in Italy (both privately and on Stock Exchanges) as well as the increasing presence of Italian companies abroad. To improve the services rendered to its clients, the firm established branch offices in other Italian cities, so that the resources, international and corporate expertise of the firm could be available to clients throughout Italy.Practice areas:- Corporate, Commercial and Civil Law- Banking and Finance (Corporate Finance, Securities, Capital Markets, Private - Equity)- Merger & Acquisitions- Corporate Restructuring and Insolvency- Litigation and Arbitration- Intellectual Property Rights and related litigation- Information Technology- Telecommunications- Media & Entertainment- Sports- Insurance- EU Law- Competition and Antitrust- Labor and Social Security, Health and Safety at Work- Administrative Law and Litigation- Real Estate- Construction and Project Financing- Public Procurements- Energy- Environmental Law- Life Sciences- Privacy Protection- Family, Trust, Succession- The areas which remain outside the firm's practice are criminal and personal- injury law.
